Well, this will be fairly brief because the changes to the house now are small changes. House is built so now it is doing painting and installing things like the soap dispenser putting in some of the molding, etc. Some of this you have already seen so I’ll just bring you up-to-date as of today since the last set of pictures and the last comment which was 29 October.
Since then the house has received the final coat of paint. I may have mentioned in a prior post that three of the rooms had been miss painted. They have now gone back and fixed those three rooms. The entire interior has been painted with the final coat and it looks quite good. The appliances have not been installed today but they will be installed in the next few days. The outside has been sodded, all the trees have been put in the yard and landscape was pretty much done at this point. Little odds and ends have to put in, the soap dispenser for example, the front door has been installed, mahogany front door with four window panes on the top they have to go in and stain it and put the final finish coat on, some finishing touches in the garage, the garage straps on the outside, they are just there for decoration and several other small items.
Today we had a walk-through with one of the representatives from Trueland. This particular person is responsible for taking the client through the house inspecting the house seeing if there are any issues, for example, any missing components things done incorrectly – a rather detailed walk-through very surprised at the detail that he did go into. Matter-of-fact by the time he got done it looks like the house had a severe case of little blue polka dots all over little places that were not painted exactly right. If the paint was not exactly smooth it got a blue dot, pieces of blue paint masking tape.
There were several other items that have to be completed but then again because we are doing the walkthrough very early they warned us that somethings may not be 100%. But all in all, if you did not know exactly what to look for you would assume that the house is ready for occupancy. We will have a final walk-through when we return on 30 November. We do return on 26 November and the following Monday we will have THEIR final walk-through and close that afternoon. Then on 1 December, the mover is scheduled to come in and start the movie!
So we are getting there and in a week or two after we get back we will be in moving rearranging and all that goes with that.
But will keep you posted as we go forward and then when we return and are moved in I will send you a video of all of the rooms in the house.
So until later – we will keep you posted on the trip and then return final posting on the house.
