This morning as per our prior arrangement we met Doug & Sarah Kennedy. There were on the Emerald Star going from Budapest to Amsterdam. Had breakfast then went to their ship at about 0900 and met them. We walked back to Durnstein, only about 200 yards and showed them around the town. Quite a nice meeting as we had about three hours before they had to head back to the boat and we caught a bus to Kermes, a rather large town. Then we got a train to Vienna, then the subway and back to the area of the ship. Turned out was a rather nice side trip for us. Got back about mid-afternoon and stayed on the ship for the remainder of the day. There were about six other cruise ships tied up along the dock. We have seen quite a few cruise ships this trip, several other Viking ships a couple of Emerald ships and several others.
Additional Information
Today we docked at Melk and immediately went to the train/bus station to go to Durnstein. Having been to Melk, the Abby and the old town we are familiar with Melk. We have also been to Durnstein and have found it to be one of the most enchanting of the villages we have visited.
